What is an airport transfer?
An airport transfer is a pre-booked journey between your chosen address and the airport, handled by a licensed private-hire driver. It’s a door-to-door service designed to take the stress out of travel – no battling with your luggage on trains or buses… no expensive, long-stay parking charges… no uncertainty.
We collect you at the agreed time, help you with your luggage, and make sure you arrive relaxed and on time for your flight, or get home comfortably after landing.
Which airports do you serve for pick-up and drop-off?
We pick up and drop off at all major airports, including Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton, Stansted, Birmingham and Bristol.
Your journey must either begin or end within our catchment area of the districts of Vale of White Horse and South Oxfordshire, but if you’re a little outside of those two districts do please give us a call and we’ll see if we can help.
What times of day and night can I book for?
You can book your airport transfer for any time of the day or night.
You can use the booking form (initially without entering any personal details) to check whether we have a vehicle and driver available for your required date and time.
How do I book an airport transfer with you?
You can book online any time using the booking form above, or if you’d prefer to speak to us on the phone, our office hours are 9:00am to 5:30pm every day, including weekends.

Can I change the pick-up or drop-off address after booking?
This is usually possible – it just depends how near to the scheduled pick-up time you need to make the change. Please let us know as soon as possible so we can update the driver’s schedule. More details can be found in our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
What about airport parking and drop-off fees?
If your driver is picking you up at an airport terminal, your driver will park the vehicle in a short-stay car-park and come to the arrivals hall to meet you. Parking charges are not included in your online booking price, as they cannot be predetermined.
If your driver is dropping you off at an airport terminal, there is usually a drop-off fee to pay, which is not included in your online booking price, as the drop-off fee varies from one airport to another, so cannot be predetermined by the booking form.

Please ensure you have a payment card with you to cover any airport parking charges or drop-off fees at the end of your journey.
Do you charge for waiting time at the airport?
If you’re arriving on an inbound flight to the UK, please select a pick-up time that allows for plenty of time after your actual flight arrival time to get through passport control and baggage collection.
We recommend allowing 60 minutes with baggage collection, and 45 minutes without.
For example, if your scheduled flight arrival time is 13:00 (and you’re travelling with checked-in baggage), please select a pick-up time of 14:00.
We include a free-of-charge waiting period of up to 30 minutes after your scheduled pick-up time, to allow for any delay in meeting your driver at the arrivals hall.
After 30 minutes, waiting time is charged at 50p per minute daytime (06:30–22:30) and £1 per minute night-time (22:30–06:30).
What happens if my inbound flight is delayed?
Rest assured – we do everything we can to monitor your flight and adapt to delays. As long as we have your flight number and scheduled arrival time, we’ll try to adjust the pick-up time accordingly.
Further to this, please refer to our Price List and Cancellation & Refund Policy for information about waiting time and applicable charges.
If your flight arrival time is going to be significantly later than expected then we may need to subcontract your booking to another licensed private-hire operator, which may result in your journey being covered by a different vehicle and driver to the one stated in your booking confirmation. Whatever happens, don’t worry… we won’t leave you stranded at the airport!
What if my flight is cancelled or I need to cancel the booking?
If your flight is cancelled or you need to cancel, please let us know as soon as possible. We’ll do our best to work out the most appropriate way to handle the cancellation.
Our standard terms regarding cancellations and refunds can be found in our Cancellation & Refund Policy, but please rest assured that if your booking cannot be fully or partially refunded due to the applicable cancellation window being closed, we will try to move the amount paid for your booking to a journey for another date or time (depending on the length of notice given).
Do you provide a meet-and-greet service?
Yes – we’re one of the few taxi companies that don’t charge extra for this personal service!
If you’re arriving on an inbound flight, your driver will meet you inside the arrivals hall to assist you with your luggage and guide you to the vehicle. This service is included in your booking fee.
Where will the driver meet me at the airport?
Your driver will wait for you in the arrivals hall (or other agreed meeting point, if any different) holding a sign showing the name Cardy Cars.
Don’t worry, your driver will stay in touch by text or WhatsApp to make sure you’re easily found.
Am I supposed to tip the driver?
It is customary in the UK to give private hire taxi drivers a tip (gratuity) of around 10–20% of the journey fare (particularly if the driver has helped with your luggage), but this is at your discretion.
How many items of luggage can I bring?
The Škoda Octavia estate car has a good sized boot (trunk), which can usually accommodate the typical luggage of up to 4 passengers.
When you’re booking, please let us know the expected number of passengers and luggage items.
It’s also worth bearing in mind that if you’re travelling with unusually large items, such as ski equipment, snowboards, etc., plus your regular luggage, then we may only be able to accommodate 2–3 passengers in the vehicle.

What about child seats?
The Škoda Octavia is equipped with ISOFIX mounting points in the rear seats, so you’re welcome to bring your own baby/child seat with you, and your driver will ensure that it’s properly fixed in place.
If you’re travelling without your own baby/child seat, we currently have 1 Cuggl Partridge Group 1/2/3 high-back car seat with internal 5-point harness, adjustable head support and side-impact protection, suitable for babies aged 9 months to children aged up to 12 years or 135cm height; 9–36kg.
Please note, the high-back car seat is likely to require some configuring depending on your child’s height and weight, so please allow some extra time at the beginning of your journey for this. We have a duty to ensure that the seat is correctly configured for your child, but we don’t want to make you late!
We also have 1 Bebeconfort Manga i-Fix backless booster cushion, suitable for children aged 6 up to 12 years; 128–135cm height; 22–36kg.
Please let us know if you need either (or both) of the above seats when you book, and we’ll make sure to have the right thing in the vehicle when we pick you up.
